In the future the world is a dead place. The sky a continuous murky ink-black. New gas mists have replaced our atmosphere and only the relics of what was is still visible. Blue lightning is constantly striking.
My art has taken me through many paths. I love to photograph the natural world. I also loved to create abstract paintings. I found, over time, that I needed to satisfy an inner desire of my own image-journey using the new media tools that I learned as a graphic designer. Although I had migrated from painting to photography, I still wanted something more painterly and less photographic to tint these works. From my collection of photographs, I could see that there is more than there appears to be in these images, and through digital means I am able to recombine numerous photos, along with adding drawings to make unique, unconventional images that express what I wanted in my work. By subtle digital manipulation of the color, I was able to evoke an image that I felt was completely mine. It is the journey the image makes that matters most to me. The processes can constantly change as my world does, and this has given me great joy.
