How many ways can a text be read?
Four readings of Nietzsche: Die Freiheit des Willensund die Isolation der Facta, is part of a works series inspired by the movement of Visual Poetry.
Following the concept of the previous work Poesiagramma,
this one shows another way to read and listen a written piece. Through a
reading pixel software, Nietzsche writing, taken from his work "Menschliches, Allzumenschliches. Ein Buch fur freie Geister", could be read on one hand in a classical
way, on the other hand in a more physical way through the pixels that compose the single
letters on the screen.
The three images represent three possible pictures of
the same text: the first one with the alphabet, the third one with rectangles of different dimensions in
accord to the dimension of the words and the second one composed of the two mentioned first.
The middle picture mixes the two previous ways, in which words and rectangles are alternate in accord to the total number of
the texts work: 92. The covered words are taken by repeating the action of counting until nine for all the text, the same action is repeated a second time counting until two. This option shows also a
new text if read in a classical way that can open new interpretations.
