"Cassette on the Wall" is a unique album cover that takes the form of a nostalgic retro cassette that can be hung on the wall. This artwork evokes a strong sense of nostalgia and takes you back to the era of the 80s and 90s when cassette tapes were the dominant form of music storage. The album cover features portraits of well-known North African singers, including legendary Rai artists Cheb Hasni, Cheb Khaled and Cheb Mami. Rai is a music style characterized by a mix of different musical influences, such as Arabic music, North African folk music, French pop music and Western styles such as rock, reggae and jazz. Rai has had a profound influence on North African music culture, producing some iconic artists who are honored to this day. "Cassette on the Wall" consists of two series. The first series was released in 2021 and consists of three different artworks by Cheb Khaled, Cheb Mami and Najat Aatabou. This series was produced in an edition of 25 pieces. The second series was recently released (in 2023) and features two different artworks by Cheb Mami and Samira Said. This series was produced in an edition of 20 pieces.
