At first, the image is just a flowing river, but gradually the resolution and sound quality deteriorate, and finally the image disintegrates to the point that its original form is unrecognizable. This is a work in which noise is generated through repeated data compression.
Perception, recognition, and appreciation through digital media have become so familiar and real that they now approach the physical senses. However, we are usually unaware of the processing and operations behind such media, such as sampling, conversion, and encoding.
In this work, data processing and operations, as well as the resulting degradation and noise itself, are foregrounded through "compression.
Video and audio on digital media are always compressed to some extent.
Conversely, except in the case of live audiovisual experience, it is more authentic to see degradation and noise caused by compression in the case of digital media. In this work, we have attempted to replace the essence of the situation.
