The Court of Conscience
You are the defendant, you are the judge. You are the jury,
lawyer, witness and crowd.
“The
Court of Conscience” is a short experimental, computer generated film revolving around moral themes such as justice,
honesty, forgiveness and anything that goes through the gates of our
conscience.
The
main idea was to simply cover a whole court with reflective materials so that
whoever enters the room is surrounded by mirrors. After adding some tension
with the music I composed, I experimented on animating the objects while
maintaining a sense of balance and symmetry.
This
short film can be interpreted in both sociological and religious terms but it
is first and foremost an invitation to question our personal sense of justice.
We need to learn that everything we do, we do it to ourselves.
