Fisheku në pajë was born from the urge to get rid of a "weight". The bullet in the dowry (translated from Albanian) was introduced into the bride's dowry by the father. Once she arrived at her new home, she handed the bullet to her husband, giving him the right to use it, with his father's permission, in case she committed adultery or dishonored the family. The next day the bride shows off her trousseau to the women of the neighborhood, where everyone knows what was hidden inside, but no one talks about it, no one has ever seen it, but they know what its purpose is.
The kanun describes the task of this bullet well. Kanuni i Lekë Dukagjinit is a collection of Albanian rules and customs with a juridical-social character. These rules have served for many centuries in a self-governing system that dominated the tribes of northern Albania and today these rules still have a significant impact on Albanians, citizens of Kosovo and Albanians who emigrated to other countries. Etymologically, the term kanun derives from the Turkish word alqanun, which subscribes to rules and approvals (translated from Turkish to Albanian).
