THE MUSICAL ART PROJECT IN COLLABORATION WITH TWIGA MONTECARLO
On the occasion of the collaboration with the Twiga of Montecarlo, the artist Cesare Catania presents his first musical work of art.
Two minutes and fifty-six seconds.... This is the length of the musical short film produced by the artist and officially presented for the first
time on June 15, 2023.
A digital art video made with "free copyrights" material found on the internet, precisely to underline the "democratic" aspect that art
should have for Cesare Catania. After having created in 2017 and after having exhibited, among others, at the Museo della Fabbrica del
Vapore in Milan, his first physical work of art with waste materials to enhance its social content (title of the work: ReArt - year: 2017) ,
after having clearly expressed his approach to the democracy of art during the same year with the exhibition "Art for Everyone" in
Montecarlo (in which the first work of art for people affected by Colorblindness syndrome is presented), after entering as a leader in the
democratic world of NFTs and the Metaverse, today Cesare Catania returns to Montecarlo to present his latest work of art. This time it is a
video and musical work of art, a work of art that was created to enhance the democratic and collective path. An art that comes from our
cell phones, from our video cameras and that is enhanced in this breathtaking masterpiece.
« A special thanks certainly goes to all the "directors", otherwise unknown to me, who have contributed involuntarily to the making of this
video, a video made by assembling free material found on the web, material shot by mostly amateur cameramen and which wants to be the
starting point to reflect on our lives. A "disruptive" video, an almost 3-minute video that contrasts the frenetic everyday life and the calm of
nature, a sequence of images that underlines the unique transition we are experiencing from the physical world to the digital world, two
ways which are now touching and which will soon become one. The idea of a metaverse entering our lives, for many in an unknown and
confusing way. A video artwork that highlights the need for women to make their voices heard. A work of art that sees us running
continuously towards an indefinite goal, almost as if we were synchronous puppets dancing to predetermined music. The delicacy of the
flowers is contrasted with the crudeness of the city. » Thus explains Cesare Catania. « The decision to present it in a context outside the
usual institutional schemes of art and auteur cinema stems from the desire to place the artwork in a totally democratic context. People must
experience art, not suffer it. What better occasion than music in a club to channel these sensations? »
The exhibition, on display at the Twiga in Montecarlo from 15 June and throughout 2023, therefore sees, in addition to some 3D paintings
and some physical sculptures made by the artist mainly with silicone and acrylic, as well as the projection of some of his most famous
NFTs, also the projection of the artistic and musical video born with the very idea of enhancing the concept of democracy in contemporary
art. A video that is projected in rotation during the evenings open to the public and which will give all club customers the opportunity to
experience the work of art in an immersive way.
