"To be surprised, to wonder, is to begin to understand."
Ortega y Gasset
The work has been realised in order to stress the importance
of symbols. The objects utilized, loaf breads baked
in moulds, are positioned next to each other to form a
tight-knit structure resembling the cobblestone. Bread,
as a base material of the object, is one of the aspects
of this endeavor. The other one is the experience of the
symbolism of bread in the XXI century. Positioning it on
the stairs allowed for forming an obstacle that can be
stepped over or passed by. To whom our daily bread is
still part of the sacrum?
This work, serving as a reconstruction of the original
project, has been presented during the exhibition in
2018.
Both times the stale bread has been donated to the Sopot hippodrome
