WONDER LANTERNS (Human Mosaic)
This project is inspired by a peculiar pink mushroom that suddenly appeared in front of me during a walk in the woods.
Its spongy texture and round and reticulated shape attracted me with such power that Iwanted to look into it more and more closely, wishing to become small enough to enter it, allowing myself to be hypnotized by its structure and color, to then look at the outside world through its pores.
I fell into a state of wonder and excitement as Icontemplated it intensely and imagined this psychedelic experience.
A few days later, a sentence by Kaywin Feldman, director of the National Gallery of Art in Washington, strikes me:
"Does art generate empathy? When we experience wonder, we become more selfless and less self-centered. We feel a greater connection through humanity".
I begin to reflect on how I could trigger wonder to connect people and, inspired by my journey "inside" the mushroom, I create the prototype of the first Wonder Lantern, the mother of an international network of Stargates, monumental installations that will be present in various cities of the world to awaken and protect the spark of wonder.
The project was presented during the "Next cities" exhibition at the Museum of Fantasy and Science Fiction in Turin, where the prototype was exhibited until June 2023.
Also in June 2023, the First Wonder Lantern Beta version, measuring 3 meters in diameter and 3 meters in height, was present during the "Pedal Theater Festival" in Piossasco (To), where also in this case an event was organized interactive dedicated to the One Connection project and the Wonder Lanter.
The Wonder Lanterns are interconnection portals that can be visited by anyone who wants to experience a state of wonder, a state ofjoy and excitement that makes the heart beat fast.
To strengthen the spirit of connection, Ihave started to create also the Heart Lanterns, personalised sculptural Metamosaics, made on request. At each Wonder Lantern inauguration Ihave planned an NFTs drop for those who want to join the project and access my Human Metamosaic community.
