In 2019, Mauritius hosted the 10th edition of the "Jeux des Iles Ocean Indien" and came out as a winner of the games for the 1st time, with competitors like Reunion Island, Seychelles, Madagascar, Maldives etc...
My concept for this street art project, done before the games was to instill a sense of patriotism for the upcoming games with our fellow citizens. The street art was placed at a junction, near a crossing area where it would catch the attention of everyone passing by. It was also painted below the dragon sculpture, made out of plastic bottles, which at that time was a big attraction in the capital of Mauritius.
The street art consisted of two slogans, written in our native language, "Viktwar pou Moris_ which means "Victory for Mauritius" and "Nou tou Vinker", meaning "We are all Winners". The combination of colors used was to represent our Mauritian flag.
