This project deals with architectural memory and the lack of care that it experiences – a situation both local to Yaroslavl and replicated all across Russia. While living in Yaroslavl, Anvor and her friend witnessed a slow decay of one of such beautiful buildings: the dwellers were made to leave, the windows got covered up with wood, and parts of the balconies started falling on to the street. Anvor defines her main artistic mission as painting the souls pf people, so she decided to paint the souls that used to live there – right on the wood boards that covered the windows. Anvor and her friend created audio guides and placed QR codes around the building. They received a lot of enthusiastic feedback from the city dwellers and the building became a famous sight in the city. The building has finally found a patron, who will carry out the renovation.
