floating Installation
The project involves the construction of a floating installation. “Mad” tries to increase the relationship between the human and the environment he inhabits through his civil and aesthetic function. The action that connects these two elements is that of looking, a floating observatory.
“Mad” tries to build an OTHER space; it combines different dimensions, perceivable from different places, related to each other in different ways of distances and proportions. The concept was born in the last three years of Pandemic. In which I realized that the water Water has therefore become the element capable of containing and transforming our differences and creating a relationship with the outside world. Water becomes a river, a sea, an exodus, a way out to try to create a more conscious relationship between the community and the environment it inhabits through observation and aesthetics. Navigation is conceived exclusively in current through a directionability guided by oars. The executive project proposed is the definitive one already reworked at the shipyard and the calculations of capacity and volumes studied by a project team including a naval engineer, an architect and the artist.
The final dimensioning of the work in a possible production phase would have to be calibrated in the specificity of the welcoming context, according to the flow volumes of the navigation waters and their dynamic forces. To date, Il Santo is designed to carry a maximum load of 6 people, two of which are dedicated to navigation and four per session in the observatory.
The prostheses called "VELE" are mobile, they close and open on the central body and can be completely separated from the central body.
