This installation was
put in front of a Lebanese house that had been abandoned by the owners in the
civil war (1975). Even though the war ended (1990), we still continued to live
in conflict, hate and uncertainty.
Lebanon now is witnessing a revolution against the same people that started the
civil war. They have been in power for the last 40 years. Since October 17, hundreds of thousands of Lebanese took the streets calling for change, and for the first time I see people united from different religions for the same cause. I want to create a new memory, and this installation with white doves on a drying rack symbolizes the anticipation of a new beginning.
