CITYSCOPE is reminiscent of a gigantic crystal. Its facets, covered in a mirroring
goldish surface, create a multi-level and perpetually changing portrait of space.
The installation reflects the movement of passers-by and fragments the
architectural background. Like the patterns of a kaleidoscope, which are never
the same, the sculpture is always changing — its appearance depends on the
time of day, the specific site conditions, the weather and the people around it.
CITYSCOPE merges with the given context while densifying the surrounding
onto the crystal-like sculpture. The golden-hued mirroring surface gradates the
different images and augments, as it were, the perception of the specific site.
The bevelling structure generates a three-dimensional composition of the context,
which relates to the individual point of view. As such the beholder becomes
an integral part of the installation and its complex reflections.
