Who am I? This question is most often answered with ‘what I do’ and ‘where I am’. These strings pin us down to a defined space and time constraining our growth and experiences. We become so embedded and involved in our physical surroundings that the ultimate goal of our soul to break free from these strings and soar, is forgotten.
Art, yoga and meditation enable me to stay focused. They remind me of my true purpose to move away from the physicality of my existence towards that ultimate state of peaceful equilibrium, or nirvana. These sculptures are thus inspired by yogasanas. I have attempted to capture the essence of that harmonious and rhythmic flow of energy experienced in deep yoga. The sculptures are engraved with Sanskrit mantras which are the natural repertoire of any yogi.
I hope to inspire the viewer to explore his own way to move towards that absolute freedom where true happiness exists.
