THE YELLOW TRASH TREE
This Installation is designed to conserve trash in an aesthetic manner.
This artistic Installation demonstrates consumer’s and industry’s attitude and behaviour towards conservation in the 21th century.
Plastic is today’s most commonly used material for the production and packing of any kind of product.
The yellow trash tree consists of 121 yellow sacks (120x90 cm), which were filled by the Munich population with well-cleaned plastic garbage. During a performative installation, the artist hung these on a 8-meter-high steel framework, modeled after Marcel Duchamp's bottle dryer. At the top of this installation was the performance: The dress of Artemis instead took place.
