According to ongoing situation in Iran these days .
The protests and a women revolution is happening in Iran right now.
As an Iranian artist living abroad, I am inspiring of current situation and news in Iran, and I wish that I can be the voice of the them outside the borders of my country by art media.
I did three installation based on three girls in Iran who killed by police in the last two month.
Three match boxes that symbolize this revolution that is happening.
Mahsa Amini 22 years old. The religious morality police of Iran’s government arrested her for not wearing the hijab in accordance with government. She fell into a coma due to multiple baton blows to her head and died in the hospital a few days later.
With the death of Mehsa Amini, the fire that had been hidden under the ashes for years was rekindled. The fire that was under the ashes in the chest of all of us Iranians due to years of oppression, discrimination, violence and injustice.
People started protesting after Mahsa’s death and as always the government responds to protest with bullets.
Hadis Najafi was 22 years when she come to street to protest mahsa’s death. She died after being struck by gunfire.
With the deaths of others, this fire flared up.
Nika Shakarami was 16 years old and was an artist. She disappears in Tehran during protests.
After some days raping and torturing this teenagers, the fascist government of Iran killed her and after 10 days , her family was informed. Family wanted to bury her in her hometown , but the agents of the government stol the lifeless body of the 16-years-old girl and ask her mother to say she suicided and threw herself from the building. Every day more children, girls and boys are killed to keep this fire alive.
In the last two months, more than 300 people were killed by the Iranian government, and almost 50 of them were children.
What is happening in Iran breaks my heart every day and I can’t breath when I read the news.
Iranian women started to destroy the Middle Ages in Iran and we are entering the renaissance with each other's help and hope.
I just chose these three girls because I saw my past in their story.
I was 22 years old when the morality police arrested me for my hijab in Iran just like Mahsa.
I lived in Karaj, the city where Hadis lived. I walked on streets where she probably walked one day.
I was happy and full of hope and joy and wanted to be an artist when I was 16 just like Nika.
I am Mahsa.
I am Nika
I am Hadis
They hadn’t chance to live their life.
My goal is to show the people that they didn't lose their voices because I am their voices.
ps:(Each of these boxes is an independent work. But because they complement each other, they should be placed together.)
