"Wings of
Hope" - Hope is not in the eyes, you can not see but feel it in our hearts.
This
abstract work is quite different from my other works, it has many
thoughts and feelings inside it. It has memories of loss, isolation and
HOPE. This painting helped me to carry on during difficult times. Hope
stayed with me through art. This work took over six months to accomplish the
vision I wanted for hope. Each mark I made represents my emotion and
thoughts crossing my mind but underneath it has a layer of lighter shade
holding all these dots and marks together, they are all connected.
Obviously to the viewer that is not visible unless they come closer. I
invite the viewer to dive into the poetic narrative. I love the fact
that this is my story.
Technique
used, mark making into thick texture with sculpting tools and dots like
in mandala painting using gesso plaster, wall plastermixed with paint on wood panelIt is portrayed to
the viewer through manipulation of texture and combinations of colour to tell the story and to take a deep dive with me.
Identities are symbols that live and fly with all their longing for life, beauty and love.
