This is the artwork in which I put all my feelings, emotions and love for each Woman.
It is my insignificant contribution to the coverage of a problem of domestic violence.
In the centre of my composition you can see a chair, woven with delicate, soft, pastel threads. This is the embodiment of Her - so beautiful, graceful, mysterious. But what's under these patterns? Tired piece of furniture? Strong wood? Reliance? An interior item that stays loyal, silence, and conceals fear and despair?
The four legs of the chair are braided with cords, which get tangled. They strangle, pull back and prevent it from lifting off the ground and taking off. Perhaps these long and heavy ropes represent imposed public opinion, constant parental guidance and disapproval, childhood insecurities, or emotional and financial dependence.
This artwork is about the soul and wisdom of a Woman, inside whom there is vulnerable, but persistent Girl. It is about the Woman who has found the strength to break the strands of empty relationships, misunderstandings, physical pain, psychological harassment, humiliation. She frees herself from everything that destroys her soul and prevents her from flying up. Even a tightly closed window is not an obstacle when the heart craves freedom.
I hope that this work will give strength, prompt reflection, inspire and motivate to act decisively and break free!
