A post-dualist nostalgia
When the woman tomb stones of an Ottoman era cemetery drew my attention
for the first time ,I was fascinated by
how they resemble/stylize a woman body with its curves and traditional hair pin/crown like ornament
named hotoz which was created especially ‘’to be seen’’
by a culture where human figure is prohibited.
İt struck me how a post-dualist enviroment
it was ,the woman ,the stones with its rumi style carvings and the earth. The
human ,the non-human,a piece of culture and the planet, they were whole.
I tried to visulize and go deeper in this nostalgic post-humanist,dream
like scene and create an alternate
universe in my works where the order in anthropocentrism
lacks.
