Based loosely on the image of a Frilled neck lizard this small reptile
native to Australia and New Guinea is said to have the largest spirit
despite its physical size some of which can be seen when its opens its
frill extending to 90 cm around its neck to ward off a predator or for
tactical display. In this bronze a effeminate lizard rubs her belly like
an expected mother, mouth open wailing into the air as if channeling her
voice from the depth of her belly as she bellows a wail she is seated grasping her out-streched leg whilst the other hand rubs her belly and the bent leg touches the ground and cradles the foot of the out stretched leg all expressions of connecting with the earth connecting and supporting herself as she wails to the spirit of mother nature surrounding her.
