White is the color that represents simplicity, purity, innocence, and wisdom. Gold, on the other hand, is the color of light, energy, power, and wealth. When I created my work, I imagined the two colors that meet creating a conflict. I imagined the innocent and pure man who in front of a golden treasure must restrain himself in manifesting his own temptations. The philosopher Aristotle in the 4th century BC believed that any good quality or virtue taken to excess turns into a vice. Well-being and wealth can easily lead to avarice, the gourmet can become greedy, desire can turn into lust, self-awareness and self-worth generate pride. The good for the neighbor could obscure the awareness of oneself by generating envy and finally, there is anger, a vice driven by negative thoughts that fuel the desire for revenge and hatred towards others and the sloth that lets man go into boredom and inertia leading him to do or conclude anything. "The work represents the fragile balance of human existence, in the continuous dialogue between light and darkness, between spirit and matter, between soul and heart, between good and evil."
