The Volcano underlines the non-human driving force of nature, sitting
at the core of creation and destruction. I am inspired by the potentiality
of the magma that lies in the underground, in the unconscious, in that
embryo core that is waiting to be born out of the ground’s womb. Chaos
spans order. I identify my creation process with that of a volcano: the
emergence of the subterranean (the subconscious) to the above the
ground (the chaos that the volcano sparks) and to the new forms that
the magma creates. Breaking away from the negative interpretations
of chaos, through this work I unveil other significances that the symbol
of chaos surface out: potential and trigger for self-analysis. In a sense,
we often cover ourselves in our own magma intercepted with external
stimuli: thick, toxic, hot, leaking inside our inner core that itself aggre-
gates other inner forces and anxieties. I express the energy generated
by transformation, metamorphosis, and by the symbiotic process of de-
cay and regeneration, through the addition and subtraction of matter:
Building while deconstructing, molding while excavating, accumulating
while reducing. Pulled together in the black oil spill membrane, the core
of red magma breaths out the arisen potentiality.
