The series Transparence shows a series of portraits shot as if
they were passport images, blown up to a large scale and
printed on fragile almost transparent paper. They are viewable from all angles and play in the wind floating in the space, emphasising the fragile identities and ephemeral nature of identity and existence.
What aspects of an
individual, of a character, of an identity are visible through the
way they are staring at you? How much or how little we see of
the individual, is up to the viewer’s own background and
interpretation. By recreating the neutrality of a passport
photo, we see that the attempt at neutrality fails.
