The idea of
the present Installation is to bring to discussion an important aspect of life;
our Importance. This Importance should be achieved through the simple act of breathing.
Since air is the bread for our emotions, and impression, the bread for our
spirit, we should choose which one to nourish ourselves?
As long as we
do not feel short of it, we hardly pay attention to its importance. Therefore,
until recently, for the majority, at least, the acts of inhale and exhale were
not that relevant in our lives.
However, breathing
is so vital that in Yoga, it is taught how one should breathe, and it is called
Pranayama, which in Sanskrit, is the junction of two other words,
meaning, vital energy (prana) and control (yama), with direct influence
in the lives of those who practice it. Therefore, this should also be considered:
Control of our Vital Energy! Without that, everything is useless!
The same is
true with exercises, since they are also more efficient when combined with the
correct breathing. Therefore, the way we breathe in each moment of our life,
being running, during sex, giving birth, makes all the difference!
In a plunge
of a simple visual and sound effect, the viewer will be able to experiment some
time dedicated to thinking about his/hers´ life, the environment around us,
issues one gives important to, and those that are not taken in consideration, such
as family, friends, real friends, health, etc.
Therefore, A
moment to meditate!
Just like in
any other shocking situation, such as in the recent moments of global health
turmoil we have been through, we should learn from it. So, the more we value
it, the better our life will become.
Life that
equally has not been so celebrated and valued such as at the present moment!
In this Installation,
you will face a wall full of sculptures of noses made in different colors,
which already may connect your subconscious to different sensations, like
happiness, arouse, peace, and so on. However, it will only work depending on
your sensibility.
So, I suggest
you close your eyes, and try to concentrate on your own silence, paying
attention to your inhaling and exhaling. Should you need, seat down, and
concentrate. Breathe rhythmically, trying to feel the air coming and going out
of your body, valuing those two movements and its effects in your body.
Even though
this situation may last a short period of time, it is already enough to offer
you a precious moment for yourself, that doubtlessly will represent an important
gap in your day.
Specially
because we live in such complicated times, with heath matters, war, political
instabilities, environmental or political agendas, pollution from machinery and
automobiles, the consequences of global deforestation, what doubtlessly represents
a great and negative impact in our lives, influencing directly in the quality
of the air we breathe, as well as an enormous amount of distractions caused by
the great variety of medias, resulting in few time dedicated to our body and
soul.
Therefore, I
believe we should stop and value our lives.
These
precious periods of time, such as those when we stop to appreciate art, music,
breathing, make Yoga, exercise, sex, meditate, etc., represented by these gaps
in time, dedicated to ourselves, transform in a treasury for our soul.
I also urge
you to believe that even this short period of time of interior peace, usually
not easily or immediate noticeable, will offer you excellent results, being
Inhaling, Exhaling, Meditating or Perspiring in any way you choose to!
Value your
Time, your Body, and your Life! Live your Life! Inspire in Life! Inspire Life!
And, Thank
you for stopping by !
