Torn II is a armour-like representation of the female torso, rooted in the Middle Ages, with torture chambers, iron maidens and chastity belts. Somewhere in our souls we can still feel the violence that some women had to endure at the time. To this day, there is agony impeded in the female existence, the most omnipresent examples of which are the monthly cycle and child birth. This work is a universal ode to female pain and female triumph. The latter being reprinted by the deep blue velvet the piece is mounted.
