In-Time modifications of a Cycle_ Embroidering Time.
Time-Counters are a series of embroidered art pieces that I started creating in 2014 and have evolved as an art form ever since. Needle and thread are used like a pencil, tracing small lines alongside one another, drawing over the fabric surface.
Before starting the embroidery I define a spatial limit to my actions by marking the circumference of the wooden hoop with a pencil (12,9cm). The design is formed during the action when warp and weft are tightened, distorting the initial shape of the traced circle.
The work becomes an expression of hatching through time. Every minute spent in the process corresponds to an inner impulse, a personal and intimate dimension of the passing of time. Each art piece is named after the collective value of the seconds, the minutes, and the hours that pass, as time is our most valuable possession.
