The Vertex

“The Vertex” is my artistic manifestation of the vibrant kaleidoscope that is nature. It is a tangible testament of the seamless interplay and symbiosis between diverse elements across our miraculous natural world. This sculpture functions as a figurative 'vertex', embodying the apex where nature's divergent lines of evolution, resistance, and adaptation converge. Sculpture represents both the solidity and vulnerability of our environment. It serves as a poignant reminder of our collective responsibility to protect and uphold this delicate equilibrium. 

In its abstract design, “The Vertex” challenges viewers to perceive, understand, and appreciate the abundant connections and hidden thresholds within nature's dynamic landscape. Ultimately, it prompts us to acknowledge our integral role in this woven matrix of life, encouraging a more profound respect and empathy towards our shared ecosystem.

~ These pieces are part of the 10 piece 2023 collection of living sculptures created from living miniature Vachellia trees by the environmental artist Dr. Kasia Sterriker. Based on the concept of “Beyond Bonsai”, this collection is the first and only collection of its type in the world and these are currently the only 10 pieces of their type in the world.
