The man with the suitcase
"The train of the story represents the pursuit of your own destiny and missed opportunities.
The challenge is not so much catching it, but not getting thrown off once on board."
In writing Vincent's story, I wanted to create each panel of this graphic novel as if it were a painting.
This work is a metaphor for the inner journey of an individual preparing for adult life.
The wall installation is, therefore, the unfolding of a story waiting to be experienced.
Together with the 116 original plates of the artist's book, there are various studies, reinterpretations, fragments of the script, references, step-by-step sketches of the process undertaken in preparation for the finished work and adult life, and finally the complete book to leaf through, a symbol of the grown-up man who seeks his place in the world, raring to live, to be seen and, at last, able to express himself and welcome others.
First enjoy the creative process and then open any part of the graphic novel.
Accompany Vincent on part of his journey and share his magic.
