This was the first upscaled design applying the biorock technique on my sculptures. The octopus symbolizes perfectly what I was doing. It mimics the environment, blends in and the tentacles are the symbol for reaching out to every partner needed to make this item come alive. Here it will become one with the ocean. The electrolyte system generates natural limestone accretion and will seal of the corrosion proces of the metal. The limestone is also the same base as corals make as a skeleton, this speeds up their growth. Therefore my sculpture will blend in more and more over the years. The corals and marine life will take it back and make it their own. We jumpstarted a new reef here. I call this: Art That Matters
