Photographed here is some of many spontaneous, biomorphic sculptures in this collection of bronzes, made from cast cotton. This series is an embodiment of devotion, process and automation. Working in bronze has been a way for me to literally solidify each sculptural 'thought form'. The strength and ductility of this medium lends itself well to catching fine stitch detailing whilst often the areas with the most charm and authenticity end up being those in which imperfections in the casting process lead to a creation process that is indecipherable. What is particular to this collection is the ability for each piece to stand alone or come together in an arrangement to create any number of compositions. As photographed here, the twists and curls allow for the bronzes to appear to be ‘becoming and unbecoming' morphing into one another.
