Searching For Humanity
Earth is the third planet from the sun and is the only place in the known universe to host life. Astronauts when viewing earth from space have reflected on seeing ‘home` for the first time and have been awestruck by the sight of a lonely shimmering blue sphere suspended against the infinite of space.
Scientists speculate that life on earth started more than 3.5 billion years ago and that all life originated from one single common ancestor.
Through evolution and natural wonders, earth is teeming with a kaleidoscopic diversity of life........but now it is under threat.
Homo sapiens are distinguished from other animals by superior mental development and power of articulate speech. They have developed many abilities such as to love and have compassion and to be creative.
Homo sapiens collectively are known as humanity, however they also possess the capacity to act inhumanly. Human beings are responsible for destroying rainforest and the billions of creatures that inhabit them. For recklessly plundering oceans devastating seabeds and overfishing. Cruel animal factory farming practices, trophy hunting, killings for pleasure and animal experimentation and vivisection....etc....etc.
These practices are cruel to animals and also contribute directly towards climate change and global warming, which may lead to some species becoming extinct.
In short....Homo sapiens think they rule the world and can treat all other species as they will. Far from acting as the most intelligent creative species to inhabit the earth humans are the most destructive. Humans have fancifully imagined themselves as being created in the image of god, a benign loving creator, whilst simultaneously inflicting hell on earth for millions of weaker animals slaughtered for mankind’s greed.
Obviously mankind is not the finished article!
