Installation. Subject: Terror-attack on the editor's office of CHARLIE HEBDO, Paris, 2015.
This terror attack was an attack on the artistic freedom.
The fleece, the cover, worn clothes - worn from peaceful or violent people? The form of a spiral: It is a spiral of fear, violence, terror. Slogans in the corner fields: THEA WERE GOOD CHILDREN (quote from an educator for two assassins in Spiegel, January 7, 2015) / THEY WERE ARTISTS (cartoonists from CHARLIE HEBDO) / THEY WERE PEOPLE (victims of the terrorist attacks) / THES ARE PEOPLE (photos of a terrorist, a mourning woman, outlined in the style of the caricature).
On the tracks: Assemblage of photos of the assassins on January 7, 2015, the deads of Charlie Hebdo, the victims of the attacks on January 8 and 9, 2015 in Paris, names of the victims of the attacks in Paris on Friday the 13 th November 2015, the symbols of solidarity: JE SUIS CHARLIE / JE SUIS PARIS.
In the middle Garbage (found in my garden, carelessly thrown away, violence begins there!), with the photo of an 'honorable citizen', whose attitude doesn't seem so different from that of a terrorist, mounted in a bottle. THIS IS NOT A TERRORIST (after Magritte, ceci n'est pas une pipe).
JE SUIS CHARLIE - the slogan expression of worldwide consternation and solidarity, of mourners, in demonstrations, political speeches, firste emotional reaction to the attack on Charlie Hebdo in Paris, in the fight for freedom. An outcry! The world is getting closer. After a few days there were also critical voices: May artistic freedom - even in the violation of religious feelings - be wirhout limits? SUIS-JE CHARLIE?
