Fertility figures are some of the first examples of art in history, they conceptualize femininity and at the same time respond to a primitive urge of objectification and possession, the same urge every kid feels about toys, hence the relatively small size and the correlation to a spaceship. Moreover, in art history, often the Madonnas, incarnation of femininity and Godly motherhood for christianity, have been compared to holy vessels to safely carry and protect man through his life journey, just like ships for sailors or in this case a spaceship, being space in this early XXI century the ultimate frontier of exploration. This work is intended to translate a timeless concept for modern times and compare the role of woman in society through history. I have chosen to realize it in a simple filament 3d print specifically, as the actual equivalent of early unrefined urgent carvings and it looks surprisingly raw and shiny and contemporary at the same time, it also offers food for thought on the relationship between technology and figurative art nowadays.
