Is there anything like walking on water, is there anything like dancing on water? With a nod to the Indian water lilies a fairy tale by Fabiola (Around midnight, the Moon Fairy and her retinue of stars descend upon the earth to dance on the smooth water surface of the ancient forest lake).
I want to bring together the beauty of ballet and the reality of a dancer dancing on the water in a work of art. Transparent glass with subtle spots of colour that refer to pain and the intensive life as a dancer. The wind makes the legs move and the rhythm shifts like ripples in the water. The reflection in the water doubles the image but also blurs it, what remains? The movement, the rhythm, that is addictive or slave to the rhythm.
