I create often wearable sculptures from trash and discarded materials which unfold into photo-performances and portraits. “Sharp garments for desperate shamans: carapace” addresses a series of environmental and behavioral issues. “The first one brings forth excessive consumption, large-scale production and consequently the disposal in the same proportion, and its reverberations on environmental issues. The second, behavioral, establishes a poetic dialogue between intransigence and malleability, by presenting metallic structures that behave like light fabrics”, Carollina Lauriano.
This curvy wavy sculpture is made of recycled coffee capsules, copper wire and staples. It can be installed as a wall sculpture or metallic lace mantle hanging in the middle of the space.
