The installation talks about micro-plastic pollution in the ocean, their source and their relationships with human life. The largest number of microplastic in the ocean comes from our washing machine, through sewer discharge entering our water system, affecting marine ecology, and even entering our food chain and interfere with our immune systems. This work records my observations of a particular area of the beach on Lido Island in Venice, collecting visible plastic particles on the beach to highlight the impacts on the environment. Then for expressing the art piece and to demonstrate quantification and identification of microplastics in the study, I chose to reinvent the ubiquitous items in my daily life by replacing and magnifying the details that rarely noticed as a focus on human activity. I used a reliable 3D printing material that uses the thermal fusion effect of plastic to complete the styling, combining the materials collected on the beach, shells, ready-made products and fabric, stones, going through imagination and processing them into an interesting portrayal. People's desire for beauty, seeking for a more efficient more comfortable and highly efficient life, has brought us a subtle influence, led us to the cycle of causality. Thus, such contrast between humble substance and the enormous consequences makes it look a bit ironic, but reminds me of things that inadvertently infiltrate our lives and influence our future. Sometimes even we start in a good intention, it will brings a series of questions and consequences that we might not expecting.
