Sea

Before the pandemic started, my life was full of events, exhibitions and travels. In 2020, everything was stopped, but nothing can stop my desire to create. I wanted to weave a new work filled with freedom, space, and not only in the image, but also in technique. This is how the tapestry "The Sea" appeared. Here the sea is a symbol of freedom from everything. I allowed myself to enjoy the process: I dyed threads, fabrics, and weaved completely not as I was taught, but as I wanted. Inspired by painting, I was looking for a "broad brushstroke" in weaving, where usually everything is very fine and meticulous. That is, this tapestry turned out to be an opposition to the events around and the traditions of the tapestry as a whole. So I'm saying that it's time to get out of world seclusion and start living in freedom now, in 2022!
