This sculpture is about renewal and regrowth after a prolonged period of dormancy. I have used dark colours to frame the work, with the ignition of new life at the centre. The work is 2m long by 1m high and created by sifting enamel powders on to steel panels which are then fired at 860 degrees Celsius in a large kiln until the enamel glass liquifies and forms a skin on the steel.
