Recovery

The artwork describes the feeling of the psychiatric hospitalization. One the ground we have a white sheet that refers to the hospitalization.

Then we a glass full of pills, that obviously represents the drug therapy. Everyone who is hospitalized take a mix of medicines.

Then we have the blacked head. That represents the mental disease that take control of the mind and the life of the patient.

Then we have the red hands with laces.Those are red because of the OCD. They are daily stressed by washing and the skin get red colour. The laces have 2 meanings: first they are forbidden in the the hospitalization because potentially they could be used for suicidal purposes. The second meaning is symbolic: like a rosary they represent the ritual part of the life of a person in OCD.
