Purgatorio

"Purgatorio" is a sound sculpture made of iron, wood and aluminum.

It features a large wooden and iron base (the sound box) and 39 hollow aluminum bars that create two semicircles, these bars are played with large drum sticks.

These will be made available to visitors who will be invited to play the opera.

In this work the sound is a way to create relationships, being divided into two semicircles it is not possible to play completely without the interaction of another person.

Just as in purgatory the relationship between the deceased and living people became essential to raise the soul to heaven, so the playful, musical and collaborative relationship between people becomes essential to create an earthly paradise.

During the assembly phase a ramp will be provided to allow everyone access to the work
