A soft
sculpture “Polenta with mushrooms” is from the “Meal for
seven billion guests” series. This series consists of felted fruit and
vegetable compositions on a paper plate stand.
A relatively
unique set of fruits and vegetables for every composition reflects ingredients
of a well-known dish and an inscription on a plate informs about it.
However, a
different way of cutting, preparing or seasoning turns this dish into an icon
of another national cuisine, or home-made masterpiece of a half-educated
granny.
It isn’t
really important how to call this dish prepared on a recipe of the ancestors.
It is a unique opportunity to experience physically the same feelings as they
did, like sitting at the same table together. The stand from plates hints at
the number of people who have already tasted this dish and therefore united by
common memories.
