Plastic cocoon was a work that was placed in exhibition of Museum of atrocities that was a collaboration
between Laurens Van der Weije and me.
In this exhibition we try and speak up about the biggest polluters of the 21th century.
Plastic cocoon is one of these works that is critical in plastic pollution.
everytime we show this piece we go look for old plastic for 1 day.
In this day we find enough plastic to completely cover our cocoon.
This conceptual aspect is to show how much waste there is all the time.
The cocoon is made so audience can enter to see themselves in a see of plastic.
Here is also a human sized plastic ring. This is to get the audience closer to the experience
of sea animals that get trapped in the plastic (ring).
This work has a dark and cynical approach. There is no hints or subtle remarks, but
straight up and in your face.
