Phylum small sculpture series:

The Phylum series is an attempt to give form to latent hybrid entities: the results of a threatened and threatening environment. Borrowing the segmented ovoid forms of insects, & the textural qualities of birds and reptiles, re-combined into amalgamated organisms, with the aim of merging their implicit qualities of the alluring and disconcerting. Organic but inanimate, sensual & scary, their somatic familiarity is interrupted by an embryonic disquiet as we wait for environmental consequence.
