One Way Ticket was the project I developed during my Mastr Of Arts in Visual Communications at the Birmingham City University.
This video installation consists in its tangible part of four cushions that form the shape of an airplane, these cushions have images of different street and indoor floors printed on them. The spectator is invited to lay on these cushions to watch the video which is projected on the ceiling.
The video is split into 3 screens, these screens at times show different angles of the same scene and at times are synchronised showing the same image. The video shows the story of a journey, a travel in the three different ways we may experience it: External journey, internal journey and the manifestation of our presence. For each part there's a different style in camera, these being surveillance, hand held camera in a subjective kind of way and fixed camera and the quality of each video changes with each style.
In this story I use myself as a subject who travels away and during this external trip, my character starts to travel more and more within her until she reaches a point in which she is completely gone inside her mind.
