In mythology, when Medusa is killed, her head is used as a shield keeping enemies away from battle, as they turned to stone. When I started this work I imagined finding a serpent of Medusa's head... lost in the desert. This work is placed on sand, and when someone approaches the head of the serpent, made with metal from a bird trap, people can see their face inside the serpent's mouth, like a reflection of Narcissus.
