The Ash installation references Mar Elias Hill which faces my house in Sidon. It is a sacred place where Prophet Elias had actually lived preaching against worshipers of ancient Gods like Baal and Asherah during the times of the Phoenicians. Yet in 2013, gun shots came from this very hill and burnt the house. Today, I explore the vulnerability of living in proximity to volatile territories. Inspired by the ruins of Pompeii, I put into question the accountability and meaning of living in a home.
