This artwork aims to be the voice of the many women around the world and throughout the ages who have experienced sexual, emotional, and physical harassment without ever being heard or believed.
A voice for all women who have been denied a choice or had one forced upon them, including the choice of their identity.
The woman in the artistic work is white because white is the sum of all colors and enhances the red of blood.
Her eyes cannot see, her mouth cannot speak, her belly cannot create.
Her hands are tied and her position is reminiscent of sacrifice, and crucifixion.
Blood gushes from the woman: the blood shed by all women victims of abuse and violence and the menstrual blood that unites all women in the world and is still a taboo for society.
The visitor is asked to approach the work and go through a red plexiglass carpet representing the blood of the woman and all the women of the world. When approaching, a sensor activates a recording that plays some of the many phrases that patriarchal culture uses to describe, coerce, and "educate" women to its rules.
The visitor thus witnesses all the abuse and pain and experiences it himself.
But the final message is hope: her legs are not bound and she can go out into the world to tell her story and rewrite her future.
NOTE: The work is submitted as a 3D concept of the final artwork. The final dimensions of the artwork are reported in the submission form and it will include a speaker broadcasting relevant sentences from the patriarchal culture. The artwork will be provided without any background.
