The work represents traditional Chinese landscape painting from a bird’s view, it’s a view we see from the plane or google map which also being called as satellite view. The original English name for the work is "Metropolitan Shanshui," where "Metro" in Metropolitan implies transportation and communication. Traditional Chinese Shanshui painting depicts a geographically organic fractal map, with mountains, rivers, and streams connecting different regions and towns. My "Metropolitan Shanshui" series depicts the transportation routes, flight paths, network communications, pipelines, circuits, and more that connect the contemporary world. It is these connections that make up the world we live in today, a city fractal system formed by individual social activities.
