Because I grew up in Shanghai and witnessed the changes in our living environment brought about by China’s reform and opening up. When I was forming my worldview from 17 to 22 years old, I studied and lived in London, where I experienced the advanced material civilization of the West. After graduation, I worked in the fashion industry in London, Shanghai, Paris, and New York, so I have always been very interested in the theme of CITY.
Just as writing (action) precedes thought, art must also be created before thought. The process of creation will guide your subsequent thoughts. The initial works start from the perspective of macroscopic observation,
examining how the city, as the largest complex organism created by humans, organically grows into various fractal systems. Current creations focus more
on describing how people engage in social activities within this complex fractal system and the various problems that arise from this development and growth. I then explore the energy conversion, enclosures, and barriers within it, seeking the sustainability of future urban development.
